Wow!  Never heard of a tub cut before, @seaswirl !  I will ask my contractor his opinion on this procedure though.  

 

I'm in the midst of having my bathrm redone.  I wanted the tub removed as I wanted a 4' shower, thin broom closet and my washer and dryer moved up from the laundry room.  I'm putting the w/d side-by-side so I can have a folding area under which will be a 33" pull-out ironing board (can't remember last time I ironed Woman Embarassed)  and cabinets.hanging area  overhead.  

 

I'm also removing the tiled and mirrored walls - just going for painted walls for simple cleaning.  At this stage of the game for me, plain and simple is the key so eliminating the tub was a major want!Woman Wink
