I think Ellen is a fun personality; lots of people like her. And she has done some good philanthropic work. I didn't see anything interesting in her products though, but I don't see much that I need anyway.

Home decor to me is fluffy throws, pillows, accent rungs, ottomans, things one can incorporate effortlessly into their one style. This stuff looks like someone went shopping in a crafts store and brought back the clearance aisle junk.
If that's her style, I wouldn't like her home. I remember when Whoopie Goldberg brought her home decor to QVC. One show. that's it.Bed lines and most likely not successful. What's the point?
Why do so many folks care what famous people have in their homes I never understood that... Is life so void that the grass might be greener elsewhere....
good grief, who said I care? I don't and if she didn't bring this junk to QVC I certainly wouldn't look or comment. But since it is hyped because of her sense of style, I commented that if this is her style I wouldn't like it. Don't people know how to comprehend comments anymore? Your ridiculous statement about life being void is not even applicable to this conversation.
I think you're the one who didn't comprehend the comment.

Ellen is a good person who is very charitable and she doesn't deserve personal jabs.I looked through her products this morning and really wasn't too impressed. Same old stuff the Q offers only with her name on it. She shouldn't quit her daytime job.

then explain it to me because I don't get sarcasm and clever remarks most of the time. I only understand things that are just plain and simple and to the point. If she meant the general public has lives so void that buying celebrity junk is meaningful to them, aren't I part of the general public.
And if she quoted my post, then I assume she was talking to me only, otherwise she could have made her comment without using my post as a lead-in.

Gosh folks it is about time we stop this, one can not have it both ways, we all need to take our lumps and bumps like they say, if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.
I am growing weary of PC and CYA cards being played almost over a life time.
We the people need to realized we all live on the same planet and find a common ground on how to get along.
On the most part most of us do get along it is the dang radicals of any persuasion that is always stirring the pot.
It is a normal question to wonder why EG is doing this most likely someone in the PR department thought it was a good idea, but sorry this is not really in EG wheel house so it does come across contrived.
Ellen has some attraction, charisma but it is not working here, it falls flat on the subject matter she is trying to sell.

I have nothing against Ellen. I love her show. She seems like a very generous, thoughtful and giving person.
I just think her products look like recycled versions of other Q products. As I said previously, same old, same old.

Like Ellen, she's funny, talented, nice but this just isn't the right fit. Maybe they are holding some things back, I hope so, but this needs to be taken back to the drawing board

Ellen is not girly. I have never seen a female sell fragrance on a shopping network that was not girly. So, other than her selling clothes....which she is not known for.....I guess home decorating fit the bill. I still need to ask WHY? Why Ellen? Wasn't she selling Halo pet food on the QVC just a bit ago? Carolyn Gracie ate the canned dog food on air! LOL!. No THAT was hilarious! But with Carolyn's appetite it was really expected I guess ....What happened to that pet line? And now we have Ellen selling home furnishings? On 10/18/2014 mstyrion 1 said:I would like to see the answer posted as well.On 10/18/2014 gazelle77 said: I just have one question on this Ellen line......just WHY? Someone eat dog food on Q ?????? LOL---I missed that .
Haaaaa------Now that would have been to funny to watch. I bet the host was panicked .
1) I imagine Carolyn WAS the host; and
2) I guess it just proves - that woman will eat ANYTHING!
As for the Ellen line - I didn't see anything that appealed to me, but I imagine she will do well. I like Ellen and good on her for being a smart businesswoman.

However, there were some personal attacks/innuendo by a couple of posters, directed at her earlier in this thread (looks like some of those posts were deleted now.) I don't believe in going after someone based on WHO THEY ARE. That was my point, and that was what was happening. If you consider that to be PC, so be it. I myself am sick of folks whining about being "PC" in order to justify being nasty toward another human being. Get it? Hope so. If not, too bad.On 10/18/2014 happy housewife said:On 10/18/2014 Marienkaefer2 said:On 10/18/2014 luvpoos said:I agree. Covergirls are known to be beautiful, successful women. Covergirl is also a beauty company owned by Procter & Gamble which owns fragrance companies. It would be a possible conflict of interest or her to have her own fragrance unless it was under the P&G umbrella. Ellen is a beautiful person who spends her time being kind and helping others. SHE is a lady.
I agree. Good point about the Covergirl angle.
