Re: The Ellen Degeneras line

She's a name, that's all. No demonstrated talent to speak of, but when did that ever stop the Q?

what obvious reasons?

Most women fragrances are geared towards girly. Ellen is not girly. I have never seen a female sell fragrance on a shopping network that was not girly. So, other than her selling clothes....which she is not known for.....I guess home decorating fit the bill. I still need to ask WHY? Why Ellen? Wasn't she selling Halo pet food on the QVC just a bit ago? Carolyn Gracie ate the canned dog food on air! LOL!. No THAT was hilarious! But with Carolyn's appetite it was really expected I guess ....What happened to that pet line? And now we have Ellen selling home furnishings?
Reasonable save. However, I do not agree that "Most women fragrances are geared towards girly." I doubt that every woman wants to smell fruity or overtly flowery, or that women 60+ uniformly want to smell like 20 year olds. How would you define girly? As opposed to non-girly? I would describe Philosophy fragrances as "clean" or "fresh" and they have been huge sellers. Several classic scents that were called unisex 30-40 years ago were designed for men and loved by women.

Re: The Ellen Degeneras line

I missed the show and just checked Ellen's line of offerings. All I can say is...next please.

IMO, the 'home decor shows I enjoy are becoming less frequent on the Q. I still miss Linda Dano, I don't care for Tim Gunn's taste, and Ellen's selections leave much to be desired. Glad that VPH is still around!

Looking forward to LR's 2 hr special next week...just a few left of those *pouts*

And then there is the 'missing' Luminara in shows...

In the end I suppose, it keeps $ in my pocket...

Re: The Ellen Degeneras line

Ellen really needs to add ornaments or something as I have already got bored of Trees

I could see her doing a theme or like anyone something that is a signature. I do not see anything that she identifies with in my concept of Ellen but again I never really watched but maybe 3 shows. Her add even confuses me as she keeps stating WHAY AM I DOING THIS.!?

Re: The Ellen Degeneras line

I like Ellen ... I watch her show often ...she is great at what she does but, there was nothing that I saw that temps me to purchase .... the dog food that Carolyn ate a few years ago was on a QVC show that was broadcast from Ellen's TV studio in California ... the dog food is called Halo ... It was an all natural human grade dog food of meat and vegetables.. whenever I opened the can to give it to my dog it smelled sooooo good .. nothing like the other dog foods ... my dog loved it ... then Ellen partnered with the company and for whatever the reason they changed the formula and the food is nothing like the original ... It smells just like the cheaper brands and my dog refuses to eat it ... a good thing was ruined.

The only obvious reason that Ellen wouldn't have a fragrance line is because she is a Covergirl. Covergirls are known to be beautiful, successful women. Covergirl is also a beauty company owned by Procter & Gamble which owns fragrance companies. It would be a possible conflict of interest or her to have her own fragrance unless it was under the P&G umbrella. Ellen is a beautiful person who spends her time being kind and helping others. SHE is a lady.

Re: The Ellen Degeneras line

this line of goods looks like cheap junk one can pick up in Big Lots. I don't know why a successful and wealthy person who seems to already have a full life would even be interested in putting her name on this stuff. Home decor to me is fluffy throws, pillows, accent rungs, ottomans, things one can incorporate effortlessly into their one style. This stuff looks like someone went shopping in a crafts store and brought back the clearance aisle junk.

If that's her style, I wouldn't like her home. I remember when Whoopie Goldberg brought her home decor to QVC. One show. that's it.Bed lines and most likely not successful. What's the point?

Re: The Ellen Degeneras line

Get rid of Linda Dano and promote this stuff. Think the Q is continuing to move in the wrong direction. You have a ""name"" and no products to back it up. What else is new. How many celebrity lines have we seen come and go.
