They're beautiful, but not for me

Re: The Canopy Bed: Yay or Nay?

It would have to be NAY for me.

When I was pre-teen, I saw a horror movie that showed the "canopy" crushing a man to death as it slowly moved down while the man was sleeping.

I think the movie was the original 13 Ghosts.

That scene plays in my mind every time I see a canopy bed.

Beautiful but not something I would want.  I have enough trouble with dust and this would be one more dust trap.

I like #3, but the rest of them not so much.

Yes. I love my canopy.  After a cockroach fell on my face in bed, I had my husband put thin boards across our four post bed, so that I could put a lace canopy over the top. I live in the forest in the south.  I love my canopy!

I like it especially the twin beds, little girls would love that.

Re: The Canopy Bed: Yay or Nay?

I am torn on this one, although I think some are beautifully done I am going to have to say Nay for me, I can only imagine the dust that they collect.

We did buy some netting when our daughter was young, and strung that over her bed and then put some twinkle lights at the top, when she would read at night she said it felt like her own little getaway, she loved it, but the minute she moved away from home it all came down!
