TYPICAL MILES REDD BOLD LIVING ROOM

Miles Redd is one of the younger, stylish, sought-after decorators, but you do have to love color to love him.

Sometimes he's even a bit much for me, and I adore color.  This room of his is vital and cozy.  I like grass cloth wall coverings (brings in the casual and natural), I like celery green (couch & walls) and robin's egg (curtains).  I'd just change the reddish occasional chairs to navy, maybe, to bring out the blue in the rug and mantel.

Then for spring I'd slipcover those leopard print pillows with a cool cotton stripe.  Presto, warm weather ready.

Another, endearing thing I forgot to point out.  Notice the little kitty fire screen (or something-- needlepoint?) just to the side of the fireplace....

Re: TYPICAL MILES REDD BOLD LIVING ROOM

@Oznell  I find it interesting and I like it.  I would remove the mantel clock because it's interfering with the painting, in fact I would remove everything from the mantle because of the size of the painting which is supposed to be a feature in the room.  I would remove the pedestal and blue vase from in front of the french doors because it interferes with going outside and the blue vase looks strange behind the chair.  I would remove whatever that is to the left of the fireplace, at first I thought it to be a fire screen but it's too high and too small.  I like the colors and of course, a fire makes the room glow and invites you to sit and enjoy it!

@Oznell  I like the room.  Would change the sofa to navy and change out the sofa pillows.  Everything else works for me.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

It looks so cozy and comfortable.. Just a few minor tweaks and I'm good.

I'm really liking color lately too.

I love this room!  It is so spacious.  I would change some of the decor but I could easily see myself relaxing on the couch in front of that roaring fire!  This is for me.

@Oznell  I've seen other work he's done and I felt like there was too much going on in the rooms but this one is so well done.

Re: TYPICAL MILES REDD BOLD LIVING ROOM

I think most people appreciate this traditional, cozy style, esp. during winter with the fire going.

But, for me, I've never been a fan of heavy drapes or any animal print decor (or clothing.)  The room is too busy.  I do like the fireplace though.

Reminds me of an English manor house. Tea anyone?
