TWO NEW YORK APARTMENT LIVING-DINING AREAS

Post-Christmas, One Kings Lane has a flurry of new apartment looks on their blog.

One, in a decidedly modern vein--

Something about the colors, plus the plush fabrics, and how 'sleek' this apartment seems (that bar cabinet below is so neat), snagged my eye--

Then, they showed this apartment below, which they said had been a total white box to start with.  I think they had certain challenges, like the existing gray plank floor, which to me, is not the best look.  ( Mainly, b/c wood does not naturally come in this gray of a color).  But I think the designer made some real headway.

Fun, retro-modern Euro kitchen, what you can see of it--

Both apartments, while different, struck me as fresh.

Great use of color!

I really would love to see the drapes open in the first room.  LOVE the turquoise used!  My eye keeps wanting to put dove gray with it.

In the second room, I like the round dining table and the oval chairs with filigree.

I love the first one (especially the glassware!) but the second looks like a mish-mash to me.

Re: TWO NEW YORK APARTMENT LIVING-DINING AREAS

I like the first apartment very much although I don't generally care for modern. It seems warm and inviting and has just the right amount of furnishings and decorative touches.

The bar cabinet has some nice, interesting pieces. Fantastic look!!

I love the coffee table in the second apartment. I felt rather neutral about the rest of the furniture. The gray flooring did not help. I did like the small bouquet of flowers and that table and lamp. So many windows, which is wonderful.

Thank you for another excellent posting @Oznell

First one is much more to my taste except for the drapes.  I thought they were vertical blinds which I prefer.

[ Edited ]

@Oznell , I love the swivel chairs in # 1 and round coffee table.  Do not care for exposed/open glass shelving...dusting those is a pain.

Also love the round side tables in # 2.  There are no square tables in my home.  All are round, oval or half moon.

Overall, # 1 would be my choice.

I much prefer number one although I'd tweak some things.

Number two is just a mishmash of things and I absolutely hate that coffee table from the '70s. I do really like those round end tables though.

Truth be told, I don't care for either one.
