Love this dining room.

I like pairing a cool wall color with warm (in this case ivory-ish) woodwork.

@alliswell    That painting is rather unique but perhaps A bit whimsical for a manor house.

I was thinking more in terms of something by A.J. Munning, a prolific painter of British hunting and racing scenes, A great painter of horses.

This house has no appeal whatsoever for me; not fond of old houses and antique things.

How I love recessed windows -- the deeper, the better!  The embellished panel separating the window from what I suspect is another next to it is also a nice touch.  Thanks, @Oznell .

@vsm From what I understand the windows are recessed because the walls are that thick. Woman Happy

Yes, @Sooner -- thick walls helped keep old homes warm.  I just like recessed windows as a design feature, because they make a room look cozy.

@vsm Yes, and stacked brick, not like brick veneer like houses today.

What a great old place and the dining room is lovely. Yes, there's a lot to see, but, to me, it's all pleasing to the eye. Elegant and historical, yet warm and cozy,

Quite a beautiful home.  And that dining room is so lovely.  I can’t begin to imagine the elegant meals served there.  Just like my house. LOL

Re: THE DINING ROOM AT BECKSIDE HOUSE

The exterior of the home is stunning as are the grounds and lush foliage.  The dining room has much to admire, the fireplace design, the art work which decorates the walls, the lovely dining set and beautiful rug, all add to the charm and appeal of this room. I would add one thing, window treatments, nothing heavy looking something to add warmth and fit in with the design of the furnishings!  Very nice space.
