I can see the base of the island filty and marked up from those wanting to push off to swing.  This is for people who don't know what to do with their money cuz they have too much of it.

I know how strange indeed. I wonder if the swings only swing so much so that they don't hit the counter all the time....It was the strangest thing I have seen in a kitchen in a long time!

One of the HGTV competition shows did this and was hammered big time as a definite NO.

well, I for one love it, just love it!  Would I or could I use it, NO!   I can't even sit on stool these days.  Not stable. But, it's a great idea. Yea it is Auntie Mames set, lol. What did she call the designer, Uru ULU ?   Those seats,don't seem comfortable.  But redesigned with padded seat and backs might be interesting.  It's more Tactile Art than useful. But cool idea
