Re: Swatch Portraits: What a Clever Idea!

I am definitely going to try my luck at this..................I adore estate sales and thrift stores ~ have seen some scrumptious fabrics over the years but have had no idea what do to with them.........................A summer project for me!

I don't see what the big deal is.  They just look like pieces of fabric in embroidery hoops.  No imigination, creativity, or skill required.

Being the textile junkie that I am, I love this! I would prefer the fabric be matted and framed, however, unless I was going for a country feel.

I saw these swatch portraits, from Liberty of London.

I think they would be a great, inexpensive way to display sentimental fabrics (like kids' clothes), or remnants from sewing projects of fabric that you really like and want to see every day.

The other day at Goodwill there were several bolts of fabric for a good price. Wished I could sew.
