When the Amish neighbors bring you more extra ripe homegrown strawberries than you know what to do with

You can tell from the jars that we live near the Smucker's flagship store

Very Nice!

I haven't started yet, my garden isn't ready to harvest yet nor my apple tree.

Me too.  I never liked gardening, but I always have 4-6 tomato plants right outside of our front door along one side of our driveway.  Farmer's market is just a moped drive away.

We won't harvesting strawberries for another three weeks if we're lucky. It's been too cold.

Yes, I perused my collection of canning jars just last night.  I am going to be making strawberry jam this week coming.  Saved some rhubarb to use too.  Decided to add jalopenos to a batch also.  When I need a break from canning I will freeze alot of things.  By Sept/Oct I am exhausted--but have to wait for DH to get  sheephead from the woods before I put everything away.  We love them pickled.

Been cold & wet up here, too.

We had frost two weeks ago. Get out the ice scraper & clean the windshield!

We'll have strawberries in 3-4 weeks. I no longer buy jams/jelly from the grocery. Found a great local orchard and they offer such better quality products that I've been buying from them.

Ah, yes, canning days.  When I was little, we canned everything!  In a house w/no AC.  I didn't can, but went to freezing, which I thought was easier.  God Bless my Mom!  Will this get poofed because I used God??
