Suggestions for a small, inexpensive christmas gift

I am hosting Christmas dinner for some friends and I thought it would be nice to put a small gift at each plate. I don't want to spend a fortune but just some small memento.Any suggestions? both men and women - all senior citizens. I considered a small bottle of wine in a gift bag - airplane size bottles. Or a couple pieces of extraordinary good candy in a gift bag, but that seems over done.
