Suggestions for a Firm Mattress

Hello;

Help! I am on the search for a new mattress. I can finally afford one now I have a decent paying job. .. and now that I am looking..I am getting overwhelmed with the choices! I checked with Consumer Reports and they suggest a mid-priced one from Sears but I don't see the particular model of BeautyRest anymore. I like a firm mattress, but not too firm. The last time I slept on a new mattress was when I was 13, and I am 57 now. I really want a good one after so many years of sleeping on hand-me downs. I don't want to pay for a $2,000 mattress but I do want the best money can get without paying $2,000.

Any suggestions for make/model? Is the best time to buy one in January, like bedding and diet programs?

I'd like a white glove delivery services that QVC promises as well as the "other" shopping networks.
