Hi ALL,
My friend just bought leather couch sectional ( with recliner pieces) from “Rooms To Go”...I don’t recall the name of the manufacturer of the couch. Has anyone in the forum ever purchased furniture (especially leather couch) from “Rooms to Go”? How was your experience with this store?
TIA

I bought a 100% leather sofa and matching loveseat from RTG several years ago. It did not hold up well at all. Within four years we donated it to Goodwill. I was hoping for the price we paid it would have held up for 8-10 years, but it didn't even come close. I promise that I will never buy anything else from RTG. Just cheaply made furniture all around.

I agree. And their tables, bedroom sets, etc. are mostly cheap particleboard.

Stay away far far far away from Rooms To Go😡😡😡😡
why??
about 4 years ago I purchased "leather" sofa & loveseat from them -- paid over $2200 for "leather"....nope it was NOT real leather!
I fought 3 years with them about the "leather" splitting, peeling & just plain ****** at 1 year old. After a year of fighting and no response or them offering anything but $400 credit towards another set -(who was paying for another set or the difference)- I called the junk man to dump them.
I expected them to last longer than 18 months. I had pictures but can't seem to bring them up in my photos -- I found that they are part of a class action suit on many bring "duped" into believing they were buying good leather yet RTG states it was the vendor who is responsible.
I bought new real leather couches (Natuzzi) and honestly, they were more than double the RTG price but they are beautiful.
I received a $50 settlement because i bought the 5 year warranty for $100 -- ridiculous. I'd never buy anything in RTG starting "leather" it's only where you sit and it's as thin as a piece of paper!
Kanes (a large chain furniture store)
had the same issue and they credited the full amounts to their customers --

If you are buying "real" leather remember you get what you pay for. I purchased a leather couch & chair years ago and it cost $$$. My daughter now has it and it looks fine.

We bought a fake leather couch from them about 8? years ago. I think it was called "pleather". I knew it was not real leather. Well about 3 years ago it started to peel and crack and made a huge mess on the floor. I contacted Rooms to Go. I sent them photos of the couch. They ended up giving us credit toward another couch, which we bought and is just fine.
Apparently there was something with that "pleather" that did not hold up in the Florida weather, even though it was inside, in air conditioning, and not near salt water or sat on with wet bathing suits. I was happy that they did that for us at least. They said other companies would not have done that for us, but other companies would have probably not sold "pleather" in the first place. Rooms to Go no longer sell it. The couch we got is similar in feel, but supposedly the fabric holds up just fine.

lucky you RTG gave you something ....we never got a dime😡. I refused the offer for $400 mainly because how does that make up for the difference needed to buy new set🤔
I know they said they had new fabric aka leather. Glad to see your couches are holding up.
