Re: Storage Idea for big comforter please

I have a beautiful cottagy trunk at the foot of my bed that I use to store extra blankets, throws, quilts, comforters, etc.

I have two plastic containers on wheels, that can be used if you want to put it under the bed. Mine are now in the basement under a table. Can also be stacked. Got mine at a local store. (Meijer).

See how large the plastic container bags are from Ziplock. May not be large enough at that.

Re: Storage Idea for big comforter please

I have had a few giggles this week stemming from gratitude for my mom's 1930's era Lane Hope Chest. That's where I stuff my winter bedding.

I have no idea where it came from because there were at least 2 previous engagements before my dad swept her off her feet, but that hope chest is one of the TOUGHEST INDESTRUCTIBLE pieces of equipment I've ever seen constructed from wood.

After 80 years, the interior still smells of cedar.

The giggles come from the fact that even if/when you think it's PACKED SO FULL that you couldn't get a mouse's underwear in it, you put a quilt or spread or circus tent ⛺️ in it, sit on the top, and it closes like magic.

I'm always afraid it will explode the next time I open it, but it NEVER DOES. When I was a little girl, my mom would hide Loft's Milk Chocolate Easter Eggs in it, and they'd come out of it squished, but DELICIOUS. JUST CAN'T GET FURNITURE LIKE THAT ANY MORE.

@violann

I received a Lane hope chest for my 18th birthday, and I love it as much today as I did back when I got it.

I have a question for you. I tried storing linens/fabric items in mine, and they got stained from the wood inside. Have you ever had that happen?

I have since had to be sure I wrapped any fabric item (especially a light color) before storing in it.

And mine is just about bursting at the seams as well. I used it to store some baby things that were mine then my son's, cards from special people over the years and other sentimental things.
