Yes, I managed to start an oven fire this evening. After living in my new place for less than a week I almost burned it down. I neglected to check the oven before I preheated it and forgot that I was storing stuff in there. Well aparently there was some corningware with plastic lids and the lids caught fire. I managed to put the fire out without having to call the fire department, thank God. Luckily I had baking soda on hand. Now my dilemma is: how do I clean this oven? It is covered in baking soda and burnt plastic remains. Any suggestions?
Rest in peace to the corningware, 2 oven mitts, and dishtowel that lost their lives in this tragic accident.
