These steps would be no good for me. As a matter of fact, when I look at them I can feel myself leaning to one side in my office chair.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

I like the loft open space - the stairway, NOPE, unsafe.

Both. I very much like the look of the room without the stair rail, but really not safe. It appears to be an office, so may be the stairs are used frequently. The bedroom also look nice, but are just not practical. Looks like it would be painful to even make the bed, let alone access the stored records.

I looked at the picture and I fell down and broke a hip. No one could use those steps on a daily basis without risking life and limb.

Fatalistic for sure! My stomach did flip-flops just looking at those stairs! I can't imagine not having a hand railing. I think I could go up the stairs, but I'd probably have to come down sitting on my behind...lol!
