I think they look great in that small space, but I couldn’t manage them on a day to day basis🙄

Take time every day to enjoy where you are without a need to fix it

No way...an accident waiting to happen.

added..Our township does not allow any open back stairs at all and no railing is absolutely not up to code.

This has been enforced for many years. I wonder where they would even OK an Occupancy Permit with these stairs.

@lolakimono  Very clean, modern look for those who like that style.  For me, safety trumps style.

Can't stand using or looking at that type of stairway--for me it is an accident that will inevitably happen.

Can you imagine coming down those stairs half a sleep, during the night?

This is a safety hazard.

Would not meet buiding code in almost any jurisdiction. FHA or VA would not approve a mortgage. And they are not attractive.

When I lose the TV controller, it's always in some remote destination.

I'd probably fall off the edge whether it be going up or coming down!

Re: Stairs: Artistic or Fatalistic?

It looks like an episode from "tiny houses".  I've seen stairs like these installed in those houses.  They may be exempt from any building codes.  For young people it could work.
