I was watching quilt videos (as there was a really great quilt show sometime back that I totally missed), and Alberti mentioned that his mother has been in the linen industry for over 25 years, and he has grown up with really great linens.

I'm sure more than just a little of that experience and knowledge has passed his way, and yet one more reason he really needs to have his own home decor based shows.

I think those of us here are just seeing the tip of the iceberg in relation to what Alberti knows, can do, and has to offer.

Yes, Alberti does appear to have a wealth of interesting knowledge.

I just hope that Q is wise enough to realize what an interesting resource they have there!

IMO Alberti is the most talented host on QVC's roster.  To keep him confined to the wee hours is a travesty.  It isn't just home decor where his genius shines, Monday nights could sure use an infusion of Alberti's poise, Tuesday's and Friday s , even better.!  .

.

If ever QVC pays attention to the sentiments of this forum members I hope it is this request for more prime time appearances from Alberti.

Maybe he is just not a popular host with certain items and/or shows that are most popular.  There were comments from some posters a while back when he first started that they didn't feel comfortable having him host beauty and clothing shows.

If you think about it, there aren't really many shows where he could demonstrate his decorating talent.

If Alberti's mother knows linens, it does not mean that HE knows linens.   His mom, I thought, worked at a large NYC department store, in fashion, I guess now it is said that she really works in the linen department.

With QVC, it is SALES that gets a host moved to better hours and even keeps them employed.

I also think Alberti is a great and underused host. Would love to see some decorating and home shows with him. A great personality and very talented.

If Alberti's mother knows linens, he could very well know a lot about linens, as well.  My father was a highly skilled pattern maker for ladies' garments on 7th Avenue in NYC for over 40 years.  I can tell you that he taught me A LOT about clothing construction and what to look for in quality apparel, and I'm not in the fashion or home dec industries (far from it).  When I shop for clothing, I know what to look for based on the expertise he shared with me, and if it doesn't come close to what I learned from my father, it stays on the hanger in the store.  The fact that Alberti's mother worked in or knows linens can hint to a background or talent in home dec which, in this case, has obviously successfully rubbed off on her son.

I am not very familiar with this host as he seems to mostly be on at night. Often that is an employees choice for some personal reason. Some people are just "night people" who prefer that shift.

I have seen this suggestion before about QVC having shows.  QVC is retail company.

QVC doesn't have shows.  Their decorating and home items are usually done by vendors such as Valerie Parr Hill.  A imagine that Alberti could co- host with her, but since Valerie has her own crew for dressing up the TV set, what would Alberti do?

Do you, want QVC to do shows like HGTV?  He does have talent in this area, but I am confused to how QVC can take advantage of his skills.
