@dancingwoman. Wow, and the avalanche is still there.  It may become a permanent fixture.  I bet that mess is hurting tourism.

@Kachina624  Yes it has hurt..last week a lightning strike took out all of silvertons electricity and internet...they were telling tourists to only use cash...

 

Last year it was the 416 fire.  Silverton has had a hard couple years...DW
