Solare Candle Battery Life Update

I bought 2 of H204297, the wax version of Solare candles, during CIJ. They've been on every night since, for 4 hrs each night, using Duracells. One candle started blinking tonight. It lasted 79 days, or 316 hours. That is short of the 355 hrs estimated on the item description, but still not all that bad IMO.

I changed the batteries in the blinking candle tonight, and I can't tell any difference at all in the brightness of the one with fresh batteries and the one still going on batteries from July. So, this brand's candles don't seem to dim gradually like CIs.

Just posting this info as FYI since this is a new brand.

Re: Solare Candle Battery Life Update

Thanks SHOPR, as I have been just watching and waiting to see how these panned out for others. I'm hoping to wait to see if they improve the battery life, and if they get some candles with some scroll work or better colors or something. I have so many Luminaras and CI that I can afford to sit back and wait this one out.

I know CI has a version of this coming out (with flame) and I am hoping it will be as good as their regular candles for battery life, and for durability.

mominohio, Did you ever receive the Luminara Rustic pillars that you ordered from QVC before they were removed from the site?

Good to know. I got an email last week that there are three hours of candle shows coming up this month. I wonder what brand of candles will make the show.

Yes, I wonder, too. IMHO I don't think focusing on the Solare done in the glass holder is a wise move to promote this brand. It doesn't seem to glow from within, only at the bulb.

The reviews don't look good on the glass ones.

Thanks for that information, SHOPR. You are so diligent. I turned my Solare candles off because the timer was too long during the summer and forgot to turn them back on...lol.

Re: Solare Candle Battery Life Update

Thanks for the update. I just ordered my first Solare candle in red to check it out. If I like it, I'll probably order another red & a couple of cream. I love CI candles that simply start getting dim instead of the spastic blinking the "other" candles do when the battery gets low. I am very excited to hear that CI are coming out with a new twist to the "flame" feature!

No, I never did. I have a feeling that Luminara might not ever be back on Q.
