What do you think of this idea?

I like the way it looks with the sliding door.   I remember those old build-in style medicine cabinets.  It would be a cool way to update one when remodeling an old house.

It's nice.  You can store things off the counter, which is always a plus.

I don't know if that's tile or wall paper - but I really like that.

I like the look in a rustic house as a room door, I think its too heavy to use this way

I have wondered why they stopped using medicine cabinets in newer homes.  We always had them growing up.  Now they just slap up a mirror and put the stuff on the counters.

It's nice.  I confess that to me, it's a little gimmicky but it probably sells houses.

Our 30 year old home doesn't have those chests and I miss them not at all.

Actually medicine should not be stored in the steamy, humid environment in most bathrooms.

My main bathroom doesn't even have a medicine cabinet, we store meds in another cabinet in the house, away from heat and humidity.

I think a medicine chest is essential in the bathroom and have been disappointed that most I see in homes are very small.  I like the look of this one but a lot of wall space would be needed to install it.

i love the whole sliding door thing. but not in this application.  way too brown, the frame on the cabinet looks too heavy.  does zero for me.
