I have wanted to try slatkin candles for a while.  Reviews were so mixed that I never wanted to spend the money.  I received a gift card for Kohls and the candle was on sale.  I purchased the Island orchid.  It smells really nice.  Not sure if his candles are better than White Barn at bath and body works, but this particular one is nice.  I use to purchase Yankee candles, however I find them not to be the same.

Re: Slatkin scentworx candles

I have ordered the candles and have found them to be hit or miss. I did really enjoy a balsam one I purchased for Christmas.

I have a ton of allergies but I can use Harry Slatkin candles. I really appreciate the total ingrediant listing because of all of my allergies. I've had good luck with both lines (QVC & Kohls)

I used to purchase the Yankee candles and some smaller brands but they changed. They just weren't the same.

His candles are not headache or allergy inducing, but like mentioned here, it is hit or miss. I have finally quit buying them. And now I am finding that is the way with BBW candles. Have a ton of Slatkin candles and BBW to use up, but when they are gone, I believe I will just stick with scents you melt. At least I can smell them, even the $2 ones from Walmart.

got rid of all the wax candles I had--never burned them and they got so dusty too--never could figure out why anyone would want a glass jar filled with wax and then light it--------around their house-----disaster waiting to happen-----

Re: Slatkin scentworx candles

I have been rather fussy about which Slatkin Homeworx Candles I purchased.  I loved the Christmas/Winter scents and like his floral scents too....

I stopped buying Yankee candle long ago....they did away with my favorite---STORM WATCH----

Talk about hit or miss---I have problems with B&BW drowning wicks and uneven burning.....but I still purchase them because I get really good prices with coupons and if you aren't happy they do will do an exchange...

I only purchase Aroma Natural candles.  They are all scented with essential oils.

Re: Slatkin scentworx candles

I have been pretty pleased with most of my Slatkin purchases. The candles smell good, without being overpowering, and all of mine except for 2 have burned perfectly. The 2 that did not, I bought "As Is" so I was somewhat prepared for them not to burn so great. But all of my other purchases have been good!

I have not tried the ones at Kohl's Dept Store, but will take a look next time I happen to be in there.....My absolute favorite Candle Company for Jar Candles is Pure Integrity, they burn perfectly all the time, and they smell wonderful!

Re: Slatkin scentworx candles

I'm pretty sure it is me, but candles don't hold the love I once had for them. Decades ago (1980's) I loved Yankee, but when they sold out, it all went down hill. Then I loved the Old Virginia Candle Company but they stopped making all their scents and styles and went to just Woodwick. I've tried tons of the 'popular' brands, and while there have been a few I really liked, across the board, I'm just not happy with burning candles for the most part anymore.

Most of them bother my sinuses after a short time, even when I do like the scents. Some brands have more sooting than others, but even some brands that I don't have soot issues with, will occasionally give me a candle that rolls black smoke, including Slatkin's.

So I have enough candles to last me the rest of my life, at the rate I burn them these days, but whenever I get emails for those super sales, I always look, just don't buy anymore! LOL

It depends on the scent and the person. Some of them I love and some do either give me a headache or trigger my allergies or asthma, which is a huge bummer.

I live in an 800 square foot apartment and every 3-4 wick Homeworx candle scents the entire place unless I have doors closed.
