I see these candles advertised more around the holidays. Are they any better than other candles, or just hype?

I usually burn beeswax candles. Are Slatkin candles soy or petroleum based?

I am sensitive to fragrances and cannot even walk into a Yankee Candle store. Fake scents really bother me..are Slatkin candles "clean" scents? (Meaning, do they smell definitively like a real scent, not a "fake" scent)

These might not be for you. I love the scents but for you they might be to strong. I have a 3000 ft. 4 level house and I burn mine in the kitchen and I can smell them throughout the house.

I am super sensitve to scents but Slatkin candles are the only brand that I can burn. I check on line to see all the ingrediants because I'm allergic to woods, grasses andflowers. I need mint and a select list of fruits. I do think his candles are the best. They burn clean, last and you can re use the glass jar. For me...they work.

Even if the candles are strong, I could probably deal, if the scents are pure.

I was looking at the new "Cocktail" candles...the mint one

The container is cute too

@Quse  I would say stay clear of these candles.  You probably need candles that are scented with essential oils which I use to buy at Whole Foods.  They have a website and are based in CA but I cannot remember the name but if you Google candles with essential oils or something like that, I am sure you will find them.  Unfortunately, I do not have any on hand right now.  Comes to think of it, I will Google them myself.  They have wonderful scents that are very clean and fresh.   Cat Happy  p.s.  The name is Aroma Naturals.  They also offer soy.

If you are sensitive to scents, I would say that Harry's candles probably won't be for you.  They are not "pure" or real in terms of scents.  He uses many different scents in one candle.  For example, I had an Apple Orchard candle from him this past spring.  I thought it would smell like apples (right??).  Well, it smelled nothing like apples.  It was some apple, mixed with florals and other strong notes.  It gave me an instant headache, which isn't typical for me.  I have tried some of his other Homeworx candles and not one has smelled as claimed.  For someone like yourself who is sensitive to scents, I would think twice before making the purchase.

Aside from your sensitivity, I don't think I would recommend them based on performance alone.  As someone else stated, he has pretty bad reviews on his candles.  They don't smell or perform as claimed.  It's a costly mistake if you aren't happy.

I know some have great experiences with his candles, but I personally don't.  I just wanted to give my honest opinion since you asked. Smiley Happy
