Re: Skylight Dining Room

[ Edited ]

I would love to dine there at night with the stars all out and candlelight on the table.  How romantic!

Love anything that connects with nature and this room sure does.

While I think large skylights look nice, in the real world they are not practical.

All of that sunlight streaming in gets the room too hot and makes it impossible to sit underneath the skylight.

You need some kind of covering to enjoy using the room, but why bother in the first place?

They also look awful when they are dirty and covered with green moss and fallen leaves.

I have one...not as large as the photo in my DR and it is covered with a shade most of the time.  I would not want a sjkylight again....unless maybe, it is in a sun room.

For some reason or other, to me, this looks like an atrium in a public building.  Don't care for it in a home.
