No, I don't like them; I don't use them.

@PamfromCT

Love Love love that Winnie the Pooh quote... and how perfect to display it in  the room you have for your grandchildren!

Oh you all would HATE my decor then! I live in a cottage on a lake. My decor is very cottagy, therefore, yes, I use these rustic wood signs on my walls. They look so awesome and everyone loves my decor. It's perfect for my home. Heart

I appreciate some in people's homes that I know mean something to them.

Some are done really well and look nice hanging on the wall and others seem just trite and/or mass-produced as others have said.I have seen a lot of them in stores also.

I don't want them for me but I do think for some they give comfort or inspiration or uplift them everyday. There are funny ones too.

I do have a verse I love that I framed with a pretty scene I added from a Christmas card.

It just sits on a little side table where I see it everyday.

My daughter has a chalkboard where she writes a favorite verse or message. I like that idea. I have a smaller chalkboard for that.

I do like to see what matters to people and what they chose.

No I don’t.

I figure why?, there are so many other prettier things to decorate with.

But, that’s just me and my home.

I have seen them used in others homes and it looks fine. Just don’t go overboard with them.

Like I think a large sized one can easily be a focal point, but a lot of small ones used either in one place or around everywhere are just a bunch of words that really add nothing decorative wise. ( Again, that is just me and the way I decorate.)

There are some nice ones out there to be had though for sure, she happy sign shopping!

That's very insightful @on the bay

It is fun to see the phrases or verses that speak to people.

@Drythe I love the cover from the New Yorker idea.

My mom has one from the 1940s when they did a feature of her hometown.  The old automobiles and the Christmas lights on Main Street spark a lot of joy and memories for her.

Even though those items were mass produced, they still manage to convey a sense of meaning to the individual.

I think they operate in the sphere of art rather than signage.

I think if the words have special meaning for you it is perfect for your home. It is just so over done now that I don't even read the words when I see them displayed in a store.

I have the word Love in wooden script hanging on my wall with family Wedding pictures around it. That is meaningful to us.

I don't do them, but I have seen them and think that in the right house, they are cute. My sister in law has a couple and they fit right in with her decor.......
