Shower head cleaning tip from a plumber.

I've been scrubbing my shower head, but have hard water and the little holes clog up. Tip: Put white vinegar in a plastic bag. Don't mix it with anything!

With shower head facing down in water zip or tie the bag and soak it as long as possible.
Take a toothpick and clean each hole. WOW! My 20+ Year old hand held shower head is as good as new. The vinegar dissolves mineral deposits.

You are right as my plumber suggested the same to me about my shower head.  I haven't done it yet but am glad you posted to give me the incentive!!!!!  Thanks.

I do that but use CLR.

If you have hard water, everyone should already know to use vinegar. I thought that was a given.

Just unscrew the shower head.  Only a plumber would make this complicated with a bag and all.  LOL

Thank you for passing along that tip.  I'm afraid my shower heads do not unscrew easily (old) so using a bag is useful.  I've been a homeowner for a long time and have never done this but I think I need to!
