Shower Curtain Suggestions - Getting Expensive

Just about a month ago I replaced my shower curtain(AGAIN) due to build up from soap.

I decided to wash this one in the washing machine-just took it out and it tore in multiple places. So much for that bright idea. Now I need to replace it again.

Any suggestions on how to keep them clean or do you just replace with a cheap shower curtain?
