@gardenman thanks for that.  I shared your first post with DH.  We both thought your idea of the buried culverts was ingenious.  If it was a smaller distance, we would go for that.  Looks like the slope is the best idea.  I will share this post as well.

 

Thank you for replying in such detail.  I always think of you when I think about jobs like this because your advice is so detailed and so practical.

 

The comments from posters about fences are also much appreciated.  It is always better to get feedback from people who have tried different solutions and shared what worked and what didn't.

 

We have the winter to think about this and find a way forward.  I will let you know what we do in the end.  S aka Lilysmom
