There is something so special about being so involved in building your own home.

As you know, it's not easy, and many times I was in tears while I worked out in the cold and heat and tried to help DH as much as I could.  He was a tough boss!  Every measurement had to be dead on...no errors!  

We did have someone do our floors and he talked us out of wide plank wood (which I still regret).  But the oak floors have held up and now have that "lived in" look

It is a wonderful feature.  

In the original plan, it was to be the Master Bath, but we made it a sitting area on the second floor.

On the first floor, it's where we have most of our meals outside of the dining room.

All the windows make it very special, but, yikes, it's a lot of glass to wash!

A labor of love and it shows. This could have easily been my dream house, too. It's beautiful.
