Sewers & Quilters Recliner Pad Pattern

I just bought a new recliner and would like to sew or perhaps quilt a pad similar to the one in the photo (from HSN).  Have any sewers or quilters here seen such a pattern?  Any idea of sites I might try find one.  I've done a general search but have only found the pads themselves.  Thanks for any ideas you have.

Have you tried the pattern companies' pattern books?  I haven't looked for a long time but I would guess they're now online.  I'd make my own pattern from newspaper.

There are instructions on Pintrest. Com

This is great!  Thank you.  I had tried McCall's, Butterick and Vogue but only found slipcovers.  I should know to look at pinterest.

@Kachina624  Totally nailed it!  Could even do reversible 😍

If the strap around the back is not pleasing, there are some with a fitted "cap" fitting too.

Have fun sewing.

The strap is a concern.  I may only need tp cover the seat, arms and footrest so I may make it in 2 pieces and make the back separate.  I really need it for the footrest which I wore through on the old one.

@Wobin   You might want to look into this product if you're hard on footrests.  I recently got one on Zulily which is the only place I've seen them.  It didn't work too well on my leather chair because it slips off, however I think i can fix it.  It's more comfortable than the footrest.  The cover zips off for washing.  They also come in sheepskin.

Somehow I sense the seat and back should be one piece.  You know, no gaposis.

That strap annoys me.  Don't know why the back could not just go over and hang down.

The pockets are sooooo good looking.  My readers, my phone, my remote for the chair.......

🏆 for wearing out the lower bit!

Great idea, I will take a look for something like that as well.  I saw a recliner pad in sheepskin with the added footrest cover might be nice and cozy in winter.  Thank you!

I think I could recut a pattern as you describe, I don't want the strap around the back especially since the kitchen/family is one room and the backs of our chairs are very visible..  Perhaps find a cheap fabric to cut a pattern from so it will drape more accurately than a paper pattern.

@Kachina624 , great idea!  I love having my feet elevated.  I have an adjustable bed and after a day in the garden, my feel are always elevated!

A better design for the strap would be two straps, one at at each end perhaps Velcro for a snugger fit.  S
