I looked up the dimensions of your carrier and saw this.  (I am always looking for out of the box solutions).

It is actually a collapsible cooler, and I like that it is lightweight.

I don't know how much you want to spend though.  It's at Land's End, but then I went to the manufacturer's site to get the dimensions.  It comes in six colors and it would probably help to keep a water bottle cold if they are going between houses.  

The cupholder dimensions are as follows:

• 12.07" x 9.55" x 5.29" (30cm x 24.25cm x 13.43cm)

The cooler basket dimensions are as follows:

Open With Handles Up: 19 x 12 x 17

@lolakimono :Wow- Thank you for taking the time and extra effort to provide this information. I have limited transportation and do a lot of shopping on line. I agree that the bucket handle is very uncomfortable.❤️ Plus great idea to include toothbrushes.

@lolakimono : Great idea. I have a very small bathroom and limited floor space. I have a recessed storage cabinet and the bottom shelf has a bag similar to this for my laundry hamper.

Here is another.  Keep in mind that these are much longer than the cupholder, but most of the totes are not wide enough on the sides, and these are.

@lolakimono : The cup caddy was delivered today. Really cute and love the color, but my round cleaning spray bottle  doesn't fit. What was I thinking?I have the spray bottles from Walmart with the pink handles- 32 ounces.
I need to find something else . Not giving up on the gift idea. Thankfully the cup caddy is stackable for storage.

Mine are 16 ounces.  That's why I took them into the store, because the diameter can vary quite a bit on cleaning bottles.
