Have you tried "Dryer Balls"

I get my sheets dry cleaned.
They are exactly like the sheets in the hospitals.
No wrinkles. A little stiff but mostly no wrinkles.
I also get the pillowcases dry cleaned.
You should try it with one sheet and see how you like the feel of it.
They definitelyarentscratchy. They're smooth.

@Annabellethecat66 are you not concerned about all the chemicals in dry cleaning solvents?

Sheets generally get softer after washing. You find the excess in the lint filter.

@ccj I would return scratchy sheets. Nothing is going to make them soft enough for a comfortable feeling sheet for sleeping.

Nope not concerned at all. They mostly iron them.
I wash them before I take them there. Then they apply some starch. They don't dry clean them. They IRON them with a small amount of starch.
They have to pretty much iron them by hand because the machines aren't made for ironing a Queen size sheet.
It's only the bottom part of the sheet. I don't use the top part of the sheets. I give most of them away to friends.
Many of my friends have King size sheets. When I changed over to a Queen size Sleep Number bed, I gave the King size ones to friends.
I have a lot of sheets. I never care about color. I used to only like high count sheets but they are very heavy (1,000 thread count) and they make my washer go lopsided, so now they need to be at least 400-500 count.
I get the pillowcases ironed too. I put the sleep number pillow on the side where I don't lay (that uses a pillow case) and I use one of those small travel My Pillows on my side under my head.
I've found that works best because I have a square piece of plastic protecting my neck. I was in a car accident and wouldn't go to the hospital. I thought I was good.
Then my back Dr said, "Let's just do a complete check on your spine and make sure."
She said, "You must go to see Dr Ding Dong immediately". Your spine number bla bla is cracked and a sudden movement the wrong way could cause you to be paralyzed from the neck down.
So, I went to the surgeon and he went through the front of my neck and put a square piece of plastic around that vertebra to protect it.
Perioically it gets checked and tissue has grown all around it. It's good but I do get pretty bad neck aches. That's why I use the small pillow.
I raise up the front/top part of the bed and with the small pillow it all works.
Soooooo no I'm not worried because they don't use a lot of chemicals.
She showed me at the cleaners how they have to pretty much iron them by hand because their machines aren't made for ironing sheets.
