Scott Living 100% Hygro Cotton 6 Piece Towel Set

Just got two sets of these towels but do any of you use fabric softener?  My last few sets that I purchased elsewhere says not to use fabric softener.  Was just wondering, I didn't and the towels didn't "bloom" as much as the towels that were washed and presented on air as having "bloomed" after washing.

They claim towels aren't as absorbent with softener.  I don't use softener.  I'm sure the towels on tv are made to look their best.

I don't use softner either.
