I'm with you: if I like how something looks in my home, it stays until I get tired of it or find something new.

 

I use scarf valances, pinch pleat draw drapes, sheers, honeycombs placed mid-height, etc. Some of the things that are " on trend " now will soon be gone !

 

Folks who have visited my home and mountain house ask me to help them with their decor.   Please yourself, the rest of the world can wait !

I got my scarf valances at JC Penney.  It was about 10 years ago...but I still like the look so I'm sticking with it!

@chihuahuamomI am not a big fan of curtains, so if you want to totally cover you windows this idea will not work unless you add a blind, which the bottom up, top down blinds are great, I have them in my house.

 

I have used long scarves to cover my windows at the top....find the scarf you like, purchase the rings that have a clip attached and purchase a decorative rod.....clip the rings to your scarf and hang....looks great and is not overly expensive
