I had a kid sized picnic table growing up, and I spent a lot of time at it.

How cute is this idea?

@lolakimono -

Love this! What a great idea!

Ingenious idea @lolakimono and a comfortable, clean way to play with the sand without getting all over one's clothes and then tracking it into the house.  I also like the color combo in this set which appears to be well made.

I had a kid's sized picnic table someone had junked.

I grabbed it, refinished it replaced a few bolts, and put wheels on the bottom.

I covered the top with my assorted pots of herbs, and the seats were perfect for two long flowerboxes of chives, trailing herbs, and other low growers.The wheels allowed me to rotate the whole thing as the sun moved throughout the day.

It finally was ruined after years of water.

Cute idea.  If you don’t want sand in the box, store other toys, crafts, etc.

I just attended a birthday party for the little one next door, and the mom was trying to figure out how to put a sandbox in their backyard. This is a great idea!

Looks like fun and a greyt place to put the sand box. Nice and colorful too.
