Re: Safari African themed room

I have a really pretty beige color candle warmer that says live laugh and love. It's not part of the theme but I think it will look great.

Re: Safari African themed room

if you're considering a super long shag type carpet, IMO I'd make sure my vacuum could handle it.  Also, a neutral tone carpet works best and goes with every color (incase you want to change out comforter, accessories).

image.jpegMaybe the rug should be the same color as my dog so the hair don't show lol. Later I will post a picture of the side table I was thinking.

I kind of like the light brown. Funny thing is the carpet in my bedroom now is the same color as out golden so you never realize it's as bad as it is and needs swept.

That's the secret I guess...buy your rug to match your pets LOL!!!

Funny, I wear black pants to work every day. I swear I should have a black cat but the shedder/rub-er cat is white! I ALWAYS have white cat hair on my pant legs LOL!!!

I like them both, but I think I personally would go with the bottom set because they each have a "baby" with them.  I love the rug too.

Yep vacuums can be a pain. We don't even have shag or high pile in the two rooms with new carpet and the stupid shark wouldn't even go over it. I think as long as you have a vacuum with a height adjust or it should be fine.

I like the top two because of the vivid colors.  You can't go wrong with either set.  I like all the combos that were posted too.  There are some great looking rugs shown.

The good news is we are not building until spring. So I have lots of time to decide. I can get stuff like the pictures and vases anytime but the rug has to wait until we move. There is a chance we still may put carpet in the bedrooms. I don't think a rug with carpet will work.

Actually area rugs over carpet work very well and can add pattern and texture.  I've always used one in my bedroom and in front of the sofa in the living room.

There is a special carpet to carpet rug pad that can be used to keep the rug firmly in place.  It's white and looks sort of like felt.  It has a slightly sticky feel but does not transfer stickiness to either rug.  It's easily repositionable.  I even use one of these pads to keep my mattress topper in place on the bed.

image.jpegHere is the nightstand I liked. I was thinking black but it doesn't have to be.  I would put that lamp on top and vases on the bottom.
