Here's the other side of the coin from the traditional, colorful, sometimes eccentric English style, which I happen to love. 

Sophie Paterson is a young designer whose style is in the more cool, elegant, "international" mode.  To me it's still very pretty and luxe.  I think I need rooms that are a bit less pristine and perfect perhaps, to go with my personality, ha.  Still, I sure wouldn't object to a long weekend stay in these digs.

very serene, with calming colors.  not really my taste, but i could certainly vacation there.

I like English Country style. This "international" mode, 1920's '30s, looks rather stiff. The furnishings look like what you see in a vacation rental. Not for me.
