Re: SOME LIVING ROOMS IN COOLER WEATHER

My favorites...

I like most of this room. I don’t like the painting above the stone fireplace. I’d prefer candlesticks, vases, or maybe a mirror. I’m not loving the wood slats on the balcony to the right or the ones above the fireplace.

I like this one too. I’d prefer a larger coffee table. I don’t like any of those little tables. I’d switch out the pale artwork to the right of the fireplace with something that has more color.

A bit rustic for me. I don’t mind wood ceiling beams, but this one looks really unfinished to me. I’d like it better with a different ceiling.

Wondering what’s up above the ladder? I like the doors and view. Another ceiling I don’t like.

Re: SOME LIVING ROOMS IN COOLER WEATHER

Most all of these spaces have something to recommend them and most have some lovely elements, though I don't personally find all of them 'cozy'. I particularly like these two spaces, but would like to decorate them with my own choices.

Re: SOME LIVING ROOMS IN COOLER WEATHER

I love cozy and warm at this time of year.  Most of the pictures display that feeling but there are a few where it doesn't look cozy.  Decor is a big part of the feeling and rugs and window treatments for me are essential.

Thanks for the pictures of the different looks, it is always fun to check out design and style.

Love all the rooms with beamed ceilings and the rustic, lived-in look....just wonderful!

The faux white bamboo chair in the second photo seems so out of place in that room

Re: SOME LIVING ROOMS IN COOLER WEATHER

I like the first room, but the lovely, tall ceiling keeps it from feeling cozy.  As for those rooms with the shag rugs...no way!

You have an eagle eye, @wilma !   In that tall room with the gray stone fireplace (not the first image), I didn't even notice those little fussy tables in lieu of a regular coffee table--  agreed, I don't like those either.  Especially in a big, vaulted space like that, a bigger, better-scaled coffee table presence is preferable...

I like to look at rooms as a whole first, but then I start noticing details. I’ve always been a very detailed person. Some people call it being “picky”. 😉
