Rhoda at "Southern Hospitality" has always done some pretty, not 'over-done' looks for spring and Easter.

Her pillows are always striking--

Love that the cabinet or built-in above,  is a slightly different color, that presents a subtle contrast to the off-white wainscoting.  Handsome leather chairs ground the room.

This is the second thread recently in which some pictures have come out blurry--  apologies!   I've tried screen-shotting, and other things, but only a few are of decent quality.  Not sure why...  Tapping the image to enlarge might help, or might not!

Her art has been thrifted over time-- really stands out against that blue...

She also thrifted the brass coffee table, an expensive brand, for $20.  She needed one that was petite, to fit the relatively small room.

Her husband did all the box paneling in the hall and stairway.  Love the rich mirror and console.

She decoupaged her eggs...

The dining room immediately adjoins the living room.  Love the rug, chandelier, comfy chairs, lamps.

And her beautiful Bordallo cabbage leaf and 'bunny-centric' china!

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

This is beautifully done. Everything flows!

The only issue I have is with the pictures. It is stagnant. The placement is wrong.

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

Very pretty, traditional. Can't say I'd decorate exactly like that but I can appreciate it all.

I LOVE the shade of blue on partial wall with the cream. A very colonial, traditional, even "New England" or "Virginia" type blue...to my imagination. Looks classic, not too formal, but put together yet comfortable and inviting.

I LOVE the "bunny ware."

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

Adorable home and furnishings, pleasing to my eye. I love the artwork, it is obviously important to the decorator - they must each mean something very special to her. The napkin placement is distracting to me, I wonder if that was for the photo op but I love the china! The 'wilty' tulips are a favorite of mine, I use them in our home at this time of year as well! (though not as elegantly!) And I love the Alocasia, the placement looks to be perfect for it unless it is 'reaching' for more sunlight. It's one of my much loved but hard to manage plants-I don't have optimal conditions for it. And those comfy dining chairs are wonderful, they beg the diners to relax over coffee and conversation!

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

It's not my style but I do like the overall look and feel but would need to make several changes.  The main thing is the cabinet in the living room that appears to be used more as a china cabinet.  I feel the decor pieces she used in the cabinet are totally out of place for a living room.  I believe you said the dining room and living room were adjoining and I'm assuming there isn't room for the cabinet (or a china cabinet) in the dining room so that's why she went with the dishes as decor in the LR cabinet.  I wouldn't have chosen to fill the cabinet with decorative dishware or china, etc.

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

Though I'm usually not a fan of anything formal I think her home is done so thoughtfully with a lot of attention to making everything flow and also able to appreciate each thing. I think she really has an eye for arrangement of colors and space.

I like the eclectic mix of art on the walls and think they look interesting and balanced.

I love the comfortable dining chairs too.

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

There are things I'd change but this looks to be a pleasant and attractive living environment.

Interestingly enough, I was given a second hand coffee table very similar, though slightly larger and more oval, a number of years ago. Even longer ago, I'd seen a table of that design at Ethan Allen but it was out of my reach at the time. When a neighbor was replacing furniture she offered me the table in very good condition and I jumped on it, using it for years, until finally, just last year, I passed it on to someone else. I'm now using an ever older table, one that belonged to my parents and was used in their first house. That table has followed me throughout my life and it's finally center stage again.

Re: SNUG LIVING AND DINING ROOM

I love the art work , the decor is lovely and the built in cabinet perfect !!!!  I think the hallway invites you in and the dark blue wall color is very attractive. All in all a lovely home filled with interesting decor.
