Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

I like the collector's touch - a Vintage typewriter on the bottom right shelf.  I would think it could be a conversation piece and wonder if it still works.  I'd replace the coffee table and cut back on the number of plants and candles.  Less is more.

Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

To crowded and so busy. I would like it if the room were bigger. Went to a dollar store today and found a small bowl. It has butterflies which I love.  Check ENCORE on line as there are many treasures and great prices.

Too much clutter for me.  I look at that room and think it needs to be cleaned up!

Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

The rug has got to go!  it seems like a half a__ job of decorating and then on top of it, brining in the plants on the shelving units looks silly.  The pillows on the sofa and chair are not attractive.

Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

Ok, I love the bones of this room. The built ins, the cabinets below.

In my opinion, open it up and get fall decor into the space by getting rid of the too big for the space green plants everywhere.

Probably not popular with others, but I really don't like green plants in a home. I never really did, but they look so 1970's in the wicker baskets, they are way to big for the space, and they could easily be replaced with seasonal things. I really don't care for the displays at all in the built ins. They have such potential and it looks like a mixed mess to me.

Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

I shuddered when I looked at that photo - there is just so much stuff, as well as furniture that is too large for the small room. I'd get rid of that crazy lamp,  remove those 2 oversized plants from the nice bookshelves (as well as the majority of the plants), and get rid of half of those pillows since they take up valuable space. That room could really use some scaled down furniture! I think the bookshelves are arranged really nice, once all of those plants are removed!

Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

I do like it very much so, cozy no doubt.  From my quick look overs, I'd want to get rid of the two bigger plants on the built ins. After that maybe another plant or two ?

Re: SMALL SITTING ROOM GETS FALL TOUCHES

While I do like the cozy feeling of the room, I would make some changes in the furnishings and decor.  The pillows on the couch are not my taste and I am not sure I like the look of the throws thrown over the window seat and chair and I do not like the coffee table at all. As I said there are changes I would make.
