SLEEK "MATTE" CERAMIC CANDLES ARE BACK

[ Edited ]

Remember when Walmart started carrying these ridged, "matte" Chesapeake Bay Minimalist Collection soy blend candles?  Then they disappeared from my Walmart, and now they're back.

Maybe they didn't disappear from other Walmarts?   Anyway, I've since found them other places too.

AND--  they've added a new coffee candle (Heart  mmmm) scent to the lineup, which my Walmart doesn't stock (grr), but is available online at Yankee Candle.   It's called Cafe Dolce.  I like the neutral color:

The scents that I know of are:  Black Sesame (charcoal), Sheer Jasmine (white), Sea Minerals (blue), Forest Honey (soft green), Rosewood Fig (medium rose color), Clary Sage (palest gray or gray-green?), Cafe Dolce (a warm sand color, or cafe au lait), Red Ginger (tangerine?), Lavendar Mint Leaf (dark moody purple).   There may be others.

I remember liking the subtle "Forest Honey",  a sage green one:

That sort of "art moderne" design is good looking, along with the suede-like finish of the ceramic.  They make a glass version as well, plus an equally pleasing, coordinating smaller ceramic shape with ribs all around too.  :

They're so decor-friendly, with their matte colors and minimal lines.  If you're thinking of trying out a new color in a room, getting one of these candles in that shade is a good way to see how it works.

And, of course, we candle lovers know that once the wax is done, we can get creative with these appealing containers.  Here someone turned theirs into planters, and to me they have the look of retro pottery :

Edited to add:   Oh, I should add that the wax itself is not colored (I don't think, now I'm questioning my memory!)-- if I remember accurately, it is white, as is the ceramic interior of the vessels.  Just the outside is in these luscious colors.

Very nice selection of candles, Oznell!!!  I am not a Walmart shopper but for these I would make a trip.  I like the candle holders and save many for decor.  These are modern and pretty the scents sound pleasant.  I think I mentioned before I  bought many Slatkin candles in the glass holders and have them around the house as decor.

Thanks for the heads up on the candles as you always have such good taste.  Even though I am more into formal items, I do appreciate the look of these simple but very appealing candles.

I'd love to know also!

Aldi's candles are very reasonable, but I have hit some real duds lately.

NO throw at all which makes them a total waste of money.

Oh, yes, @spiderw ,  many of those those Slatkin containers are so beautiful!  He does a beautiful, quality job with them.

@CANDLEQUEEN,  and @RespectLife ,   good question.  The two that I've tried, "Forest Honey" and "Rosewood Fig",  were subtle, but definitely noticeable.  I went back and looked at the review I did here at the time to refresh my memory.  The Rosewood Fig was light and summery, and the Forest Honey really did have lush honey notes, along with woodsy elements.

From those two, I'm guessing that most of these are on the lighter side--  if you prefer a really "heady" throw, you might be a bit disappointed.   But I can't say for sure about the others.

If anyone is interested enough to try them, I'd suggest getting the smallest version first, which is around $9,  and at some places on sale for $7.   The wider, multi-wick bowls are around $13 something.   Even these have been hit with this inflation mess-- they were a little less last year!

For me, about 50% of the attraction with these is the appealing containers, so take that into account.  I might even have gotten them if they were unscented---  for the "look" and romantic ambiance of them burning!

Attractive, but I'm afraid I can't board the home fragrance train. More times than not, these products give me a headache and irritate my sinuses.

Thanks @Oznell

for your fair review!

A lot of times I am looking to cover garlic and fish!  LOL

I might be disappointed for the kitchen but they seem lovely for a bath or bedroom.

I should go to the store...they size you show is $13.24 online

Yankee has Cafe' Dolce half off.  I love anything with the coffee scent.  The reviews aren't good as they say there isn't much of a scent.  Sea Minerals sounds interesting.
