[qvc chick]

I have a queen size bed, and every fitted sheet  I use for my bed is way too big. 

Even tho my mattress is on the big side, nothing tucks in firmly.

I did have an older set of sheets, and the fitted sheet tucked in nice, no overgap.

I am thinking that maybe I need to go with the cheaper sheet sets, they wont be so oversized.

Anyone have sheets to recommond???

You might want to try adding a topper to your mattress -- those cushiony padded topper things that are normally 2-3" high.  That might take up some space in your sheets.  I have the opposite problem and get irritated when the sheets aren't "deep" enough.

If it were me, I'd measure the mattress and check it against the size marked on the sheet package.

  I have a full size mattress and one set of "gift sheets" is queen ... and they are too big for my bed (but I use them anyway - just tuck in tigher).

From what I understand, there are standards for sheet sizes.  

Queen size is 60" x 80"

Full size is 54" x 75"

Yes, a mattress topper can help with this. I have a 2.5" memory foam topper that's made a difference. If you get one, My advice is to put the topper on UNDER a mattress pad. The first few months I had mine over the mattress pad and under the sheet and it would slide all over the place. I had to shift it back several times a week. Once I moved it under the mattress pad, I no longer had to shift it back into place.

I had the same problem with my older mattress. Seemed like every fitted sheet I put on it was too big. So I ended up buying some sheet garters. Put them on each corner and they keep the sheet from coming untucked. They're sold where you find sheets in the department stores.

Threshold bottom sheets sold at Target have elastic all the way around AND have sewn in tags showing the top/bottom.

I love the sateen cotton set by Ralph Lauren that I got at TJMaxx.

They are not oversized.

They have an extra gusset on the top & bottom of the sheet. It hugs your mattress & keeps them snug on the mattress.

I need really nice sheets on my bed. These are pretty, soft, wash & dry really well. Reasonably priced.

@qvc chickI have the same problem, and I hate it, your bed is a mess all the time. I bought the most expensive sheets QVC has, and I have to fold the sides up, so they don't hang down on the floor, I'm so digusted with them. Could cut the sides and bottoms off and make 4 pillow cases, thats how big they are. My mattress is 15 inches deep and this is awlful for a queen sized bed. More like a tent than a sheet. I wad them up out of the dryer because no way can you fold them. Never again.
