Love it

What a lovely kitchen! I could just move in. I have Botanic Garden dishes for everyday, and I have had them for years and never tire of them. I do love the canisters, but no place to display them in my crowded kitchen.

Where in Seattle is this house? Am a Seattle girl myself and there are so many of the same style of houses in that area. I do like her colors --however way too much everywhere about, but realize it is more for the camera--could not live in real life with all the stuff. the dog is adorable however. and kind of like that her decors are familiar --have seen many of the same in my shopping travels. Would I live there--absolutely--in a NY minute
My fave--is the plate rack in the kitchen--I would store my many colors of fiestaware there!!!

Positives: I like the overall look of both rooms. I like the colors, furnishings, and accessories used. Like the patio improvements. Love the dog!
Negatives: I don't want to clean the plates in the rack or other items exposed items in the kitchen. Will need to move pillows to sit on that bench to eat. Don't like painted brick.

Wow, @PamfromCT , lucky you to have all "Botanic Garden" dinnerware. I have always loved that, and also Fitz and Floyd's "Botanica", a similar pattern. I'm crazy about botanicals period, love framed prints and paintings too.
The idea of having different herbs on all your plates is so charming. I love that each one is identified also. What is your favorite on your dishes, of all the different plants that they show? I know I would have favorites!
I have one pepper shaker in F & F's "Botanical" ( don't know what happened to the salt shaker, alas) that is the herb "Borage", but they give it its Latin name, of course.
@wagirl , I wish I knew where in the Seattle area it was-- am not sure that she has said. I vaguely think that she has a water view from her house, lucky duck.

Thank you for admiring my "Botanic Garden" dinnerware. I guess my favorite plate is "Foxglove."
I have been married a very long time (58 years) and have been a collector for a very long time. I have had this dinnerware for quite a while, bought on sale from Macy's. At that time, the prices on sales were very reasonable. Unlike prices of so much dinnerware, "Botanic Garden" prices have really gone up over the years! My "good china" is worth almost nothing.
I still love these dishes and marvel at how highly they are now priced. I like patterns on dinnerware, unlike many young people today. I have a big collection of Spode blue and white plates, bought at discount outlets "for a song." I have some displayed, on a shelf or two, and hanging on a wall.
This house looks like a gift shoppe. We are still here in our old family home because my husband would go crazy in small quarters, and he loves being and working in our large yard.
And lately the prices on real estate continue to rise, another added incentive. Both of us agree we would never stay here alone, and if and when we decide to leave, it will be for assisted living. Family can take whatever is left, and then there will be an "estate sale." Oh, what has been accumulated during 58 years of marriage!

Ah, @PamfromCT , thank you for sharing your favorite, the foxglove. I had to look it up, and it is so stunning, with the mauvey-pink blossoms and butterflies. No wonder you favor it--
Of course you should stay in your beautiful Connecticut retreat for as long as you both enjoy the experience.
I love our little house, but as arthritis slowly worsens, and I anticipate stairs becoming more of a drag, I do wish we had moved to a single story. But, c'est la vie!
It's funny you mention your Spode blue and white. After seeing and loving the Portmeirion canisters, I was thinking, what canisters would I like, if I were starting fresh-- it would be Spode Blue Italian. Adore that pattern!

Lovely home and well decorated as well as engineered from its original look.
I love the coastal colors she has chosen and her choice of dishes and canisters. She took a lot of time in curating that home but did a great job.
We once had a ranch that looked very similar. That was my favorite all-time neighborhood. But the neighborhood has changed and many friends have passed on our moved on as we did.

Recently I've seen the marble trays at Home Goods.

There is much to like about this home.
But I'm bothered by this one feature.
The counter and the window. Could an olive roll off the counter and fall behind it?
If so, how would one retrieve it?
Is there something there to catch it?
