Rugs on Carpet

I have an oriental rug in my master bedroom which is carpeted. I have a round table on that rug and it is not excessively heavy. My problem is, there is always a "hump" in that rug! I have one of those "for carpet" pads under it, but the weight of the table somehow causes the rug to hump up. It drives me insane! I am constantly straightening out that rug. Is there a secret to making rugs on carpet work?
