Rowenta Iron

I just got a new rowenta iron. I called the company and they said to use only spring water. I forgotto ask them. do I pour it out or leave it in?? Also the directions say to clean the iron every two weeks. that seems crazy to me. Thanks.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}
