I want to get a Roomba, but follow a group on my FB page who have mentioned Neato. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I don't know anything about a Neato, I do know about Roomba's because I have 2 of them.

I think the Roomba's work very well as a means of pickup.  They don't deep clean like a vacuum cleans (not on rugs).  Actually more like surface cleans.

I think they'd be pretty good on ceramic and tile, etc, but not much on carpeting (especially thick carpeting).

I Robot, that makes Roomba, is a pioneer in the robotics industry.  I'd trust their product over the others that have recently entered the market.

Neato. For myself anyhow, this is what brand I chose.

After watching my daughters Roomba do irrational cleaning  thru out her downstairs, I really still do not think it ever got everywhere. Seems to go over and over an area then scoot somewhere else entirely. Leaving a lot of floor space untouched. At least the few times I had actually watched it.

My husband and I had looked up and watched a couple Neato videos.  Got one. Love it.

It scans a room and goes to work. Uses a back and forth cleaning pattern. I check the map it sends me when finished and virtually every spot is done, except for maybe a few small places just because it just can’t get to them. Those, I just get in there with a microfiber handled duster myself.

My daughter is happy with the Roomba. I am happy with the Neato.

We have Roomba and love it. DH vacuums the carpeted hallway and four bedrooms and roomba the rest of the house. MM vacuums thoroughly when deep cleaning once a month.
