Re: Ribbons, Ribbons, Ribbons

My sister is a ribbon hoarder, a fabric hoarder and a button hoarder, but I love her anyway. Also I forgot to add a thread and embroidery hoarder

I am not a sewer but I have.............many, many buttons. I have them in the plastic separator boxes, plastic containers, etc. They are my button hotels for my adopted and wayward buttons.

Beads! I love beads too! I go to bead shows just to look! I am certain you have more than I have as I don't have room to store them. They are like jewels to me - all the lovely shapes and colors. I feel they all need good homes.

Ribbons........I love ribbon......LOL. I have one or two of the bow makers.......and come the holidays........I can be a bit obsessive with them.....LOL. I remember at one time.....at the height of the bow maker popularity......they were advocating bows on draperies and everything in your house that wasn't moving......LOL.

However.....I never got to that stage.....but the holidays.......there is nothing prettier than lots of ribbon and bows.

I do have a super large obsession with silk flowers.......anyone have that problem???....LOL.

I remember the bow decorating phase. I thought it was fun! There was a Bow-Dazzler for sale the other day at the Super Wal-Mart store and I remember how popular that item became. When I visit almost every craft show, there were ladies selling the bows already made or they would make one up for you in a ribbon color of your choice. Those were the good old days. It would add some cheer and some elegance if more bows/ribbon was used in this world - not just bags and tissue paper (though I do like them as well).

Silk flowers? Hmmmmmm, maybe that could be my next obsession.

Love Roses........

I do remember, especially the garden shows........the bows were a very big hit......LOL. I still like them very much......but, more at the holidays. As for wrapping and such.....I am a big fan of the bags and paper......so much easier......LOL. I don't have the time like I used to......you would think as one gets older, you would have more time......but, in my case, I have less. What can I say....even bigger LOL.

I do love the silks.....and change them out by the season. I may pay more for the better quality stems......but they last. My reasoning for having so many, I guess.

If you do acquire the silk flower passion........you will LOVE IT!!!.......big time giggle.

Re: Ribbons, Ribbons, Ribbons

Funny story - a dear friend of ours moved here to our town from the frigid north. Knowing she did not have a bike but loved to ride we watched the paper and got her a used bike for a housewarming gift. The day she was due to arrive we put the bike in her garage with a card and a big bow i had made from one of my pretty ribbons. So - she has been here 2 months now and is still riding around with the bow attached to the bike. She said it has helped her meet a lot of people who stop and ask her about the bow on her bike.

Where do you guys get ribbon? Do you buy it at Hobby Lobby or something? This is one of the only things I haven't been addicted to.
