Re: Retro window treatment new all over again...

While I appreciate that this living room has color, I wouldn't want this color combo.  It looks like I feel when I'm about to hurl.  Sorry....TMI!  :-)

The window treatments are kind of interesting to look at but don't think I'd actually use them in my home.

As much as I love color, I'd have to take a tranquilizer to stay in that room for any amount of time.  It makes me want to jump out of my skin for some reason.  For me a big no.

Re: Retro window treatment new all over again...

I guess I looked at the room from a different angle:  First off, I just don't care for saturated pink, just a little in roses and I can love that. Next, I notice all the furniture appears to have sticks for legs.  I wondered if my 142 pounds could sit there without the chair falling in the floor.  Can't see the foundation of the sofa/couch, but I would opt to sit on it, not so far to fall if it did.

Agreed, @Nonametoday ,  I don't care for saturated pink over large expanses, although I love pale blush pinks.

The room has too much going on, and too much brightness, for me.  Also, I like extremely plain window treatments.  So rigid box valences-- or even soft, limp ones-- are not for me.

The Brits often have a love for elaborate window treatments, and that's just about the only thing about a lot of their houses that I don't go for.

Maybe somewhere along the line I had a nightmare about being strangled by an errant pelmet, ha.

@Nonametoday , maybe Pepto Abysmal?

The light and images reflected on that very shiny wall give the feeling of high humidity.
