@January121 i still talk to my mom also.  especially in stressful times or when i'm faced with a difficult decision, i can actually hear her voice and its so comforting and reassuring.  you are not crazy

I do as jannabelle suggested with the large tubs of chlorine sticks I buy for the pool but I place the tub firmly between my feet before tugging. It keeps the tub, even though it's heavy, from moving away from me when I give that pull.

IF you live near a fire station or police station, ask if someone on their way to the office could pop by and open it!  I'll bet they would be happy to.

 

Or a power station, or municipal office, etc.
