Removing perspiration stains from shells?

I have Susan Graver butterknit tanks that have been discolored due to deoderant/perspiration. Does anyone have any prewash or wash solutions that can help this? Thank you

An antique dealer told me she always used Biz powder in a bathtub to soak vintage dresses.  I have always used Biz for pre soaking, but not on old clothes.  I used it on my grandma's 1920's wedding dress and it took the underarm odors away.  I can't remember if it had stains, but it did work.  I would recommend following the instructions on the box.  Maybe try a few tablespoons in a bucket or sink with cool water first.  You don't want to fade the color of your top. Soak for half an hour and see if that helps.

Butter knit and all polyester fabrics are made from plastic.  Plastic as we all know stains.  It will not release stains.

i have found that  dishwashing detergent made for dishwashers works best at getting the stains out.  I desolve some in hot water, then pour the solution into some warm water and soak the item overnight. Use a product that does not contain bleach,  Bleach turns polyester yellow. Sometimes it takes a few days for the stain to be removed.

Try putting blue Dawn liquid on the stains, let sit for a few minutes before washing as usual.

I don't think I own a piece of clothing without some sort of stain.  I recently discovered Oxyclean Max Force Stain remover in a spray bottle.   It's awesome!   I've used it on all my clothing with no problem & it gets all stains out.

I even used it on a carpet stain.    It worked!

It leaves no rings or other marks and all my stains were old, set in & had been washed & air dried many times.   So easy to use.

@honeybeagle

I posted about using Blue Dawn and letting the material sit until dry.

Lit took all of the discoloration out of the white and left the washcloth whiter than any machine washer ever has .... HOWEVER

this is probably not a good method for man-made fabrics -- so it would be a method of last resort.
